As you are already aware, IJP Road’s rehabilitation was delayed for a number of reasons since it began. However as of late, CDA has declared that the development effort has reached its conclusion. IJP’s opening was announced by CDA Chairman via his official Twitter account in March 2023. Also, it will be officially opened on March 23. IJP Road will enhance traffic flow.
National Logistics Cell (NLC) received the contract for the rehabilitation and enlargement of IJP Road in October 2021 because it submitted the lowest offer. In January 2023, the CDA chairman also provided updates on the project’s progress. He claims that IJP Road construction is nearly finished.
In addition, he said that the Agha Shahi (9th Avenue Flyover), which is the sole remaining component of the project, will be finished soon.
The former Capital Development Authority Chairperson provided the following updates:
- 90% of IJP Road’s firm pavement has been completed.
- Mandi Mor Bridge’s structure has been finished, and NLC and NJB are currently working on its expansion joints.
- Although the expansion joints for the Nullah Leh Bridge have not yet been developed, the construction has also been finished.
- 70% of the brick, concrete, and asphalt paving projects have been finished.
The IJP Road will be opened to traffic by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in the upcoming month. It is also significant to mention that CDA is in charge of a number of infrastructure projects that are being carried out in Islamabad.
